Veridiam provides a huge selection of custom-made metal punches, cutters and trephines to suit a wide variety of biomedical and industrial applications. Ultra sharp edges on stainless steel, platinum, platinum-iridium, and many other metals are used throughout the medical device industry as components and sub-components.

Aortic Punches

• Sub-micron sharp edges on stainless steel tubing used for aortic punches for procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)

• Tubing in sizes from 6 GA (0.175" ID) to 12 GA (0.085")

• Reduced tissue trauma for the patient

• Ease of use for the surgeon

Biopsy Punches

• Tissue sampling, including biopsy cutting is made easier with Razor-Edged™ tubing

• Ease of use as well as reduced puncture force are major benefits enjoyed by the surgeon or physician when sampling tissue

Cutters

• Hole cutters used for catheter and membrane holes

• Any size tube can be sharpened

• Electrochemical etching and polishing provides not only sharp, but also polished surfaces free from grind marks that can concentrate stress and act as hiding places for bacteria

Microtrephines

Veridiam sharpens SS tubing as small as 36 Gauge (0.002" ID x 0.004" OD) employed in critical and exacting procedures such as ophthalmic use.

Electrochemical grinding is a process that removes electrically conductive material by grinding with a negatively charged abrasive grinding wheel, an electrolyte fluid, and a positively charged workpiece. Materials removed from the workpiece stay in the electrolyte fluid. Electrochemical grinding and electrochemical machining are similar but a wheel is used instead of a tool shaped like the contour of the workpiece.   [Source]
